Leeds Suffer 2-1 Defeat to Fulham as Relegation Looms

Leeds United’s Premier League relegation worries deepened as they suffered a 2-1 loss to Fulham at Craven Cottage, marking their sixth defeat in London this season.

Following two heavy defeats, Leeds managed to keep a clean sheet during the first 15 minutes at Craven Cottage. The first half lacked goalmouth action, with an Andreas Pereira shot easily saved by Illan Meslier as the only notable effort.

Fulham came out strong in the second half after a likely stern talking-to from Marco Silva. They quickly took the lead when Antonee Robinson’s cross was mishandled by Meslier, and Harry Wilson capitalized, smashing the ball in off the bar.

Wilson’s goal seemed to awaken Leeds, who nearly equalized when Crysencio Summerville’s shot hit the side netting.

The Cottagers were unlucky not to double their lead when Pereira’s free-kick struck the crossbar. Fulham’s second goal mirrored the first, with Meslier again failing to deal with a Robinson cross. This time, the ball fell to Pereira, who easily scored. Leeds managed a late consolation goal when Patrick Bamford’s effort deflected off João Palhinha, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Fulham from securing their third head-to-head victory this season. Leeds now anxiously await the weekend’s other results.
